MY APPROACH ON INNOVATION
My consulting approach to innovation considers four factors:

#A — The Effectual Factor:
We like to make big plans. We set high goals. On one hand, this is good because it challenges us. On the other hand, we rarely have sufficient resources to actually achieve these goals, and the plan remains just that—a plan. What if we reverse this principle? Instead of focusing solely on the end goal, we first look at what resources are available today and what we can already achieve tomorrow with those?

#B — The Sustainability Factor:
No one truly benefits if new developments come at the expense of our environment—not you, not your employees, and not your company. Therefore, the question of how we can act in an environmentally responsible way and find sustainable solutions is always an integral part of my consulting approach.

#C — The Intrapreneurship Factor:
Innovation is most likely to succeed when it comes from within the company and, above all, when it is supported by all members of the organization. This is why early participation from all stakeholders and a positive corporate culture that fosters entrepreneurial thinking and action should always be considered as part of the process.

#D — The Challenge Factor:
Everyone has ideas on their own. However, the principles of Design Thinking have shown us that collaborative work tends to produce more and better ideas. That means developing solutions together brings us more and moves us further. Solutions can potentially involve new structures, processes, products, and services—or address existing challenges within the company that need to be tackled.
